The low beta quadrupoles for the BTeV C0 IR employ a two-layer design with different cable parameters and superconducting strand in each layer. The magnetic design of the BTeV low beta quadrupoles is based on that of the LHC IR quadrupoles currently being fabricated at Fermilab, differing only in the details of the iron yoke; the outer diameter of the yoke is smaller and there are differences in bus and flow passageways. The collared coil assembly is identical to that of the LHC IR quadrupoles, and the cable and strand specifications are similar to the specifications for the LHC IR quadrupoles.
